Casual Friday

Casual Weekend WearTGIF. This week was one of those that felt realllly long but also seemed to fly by. When Friday roles around, I can’t wait to wear a more casual outfit to work (definitely not these ripped jeans, but at least jeans!), and on Saturdays and Sundays, I’ve been living in this pair. I actually wore this outfit two Saturdays in a row. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it – especially when you’re seeing different groups of people.

Growing up in Mequon, I was familiar with the boutique, but in all honesty, I knew it was where a lot of my friends’ moms frequently shopped, and I didn’t visit too often in high school and college. It was great to get back to the store and stock up on some transitional pieces.

I would say my generation (myself included) feels like we need to go downtown or to a big department store to stock up on quality basics and on-trend, seasonal items, but Faye’s has an incredible selection and range of products. They have new-to-me brands like John + Jenn (the sweater seen above), but they also have some of my tried-and-true favorites like Tory Burch. Plus, their stylists are really knowledgable and super helpful pulling items in the store.

As I’ve gotten older, I have started to invest in my wardrobe. While there are still items I don’t want to break the bank on, especially if they’re super trendy, I have started to build my collection of quality denim, coats and handbags. You can quickly notice the difference in materials, and they’re holding up much longer. When it comes to jeans, I need to try them on so I hopped over to the Mequon location (they also have a Brookfield location if you live west of the city).

I’ve said it before, but every time I buy a pair of ripped jeans, I can already hear my dad and husband staying, “You paid for ripped clothes…” I’m sure you know the line if you have a pair or two, but I love the style and feel a bit more effortlessly cool every time I wear them. Typically when I’m shopping for jeans, I need to plan to hem them at least a few inches (I’m 5’2″), but when I put this Frame pair on they fit perfectly. They were one of those pieces that you instantly felt good in, and I’m all for treating myself every once in awhile so this pair was worth the investment.

I opted to tuck in the black tee to highlight my waist a little more and elongate my legs. As for the sweater, I have been reaching for it every other morning (and I’m wearing it right now) so you know it’s a great purchase when you wear it that frequently. I can’t wait to pair it with a floral dress and these booties as the weather hopefully begins to warm up.
